Travel: Smoky Mountains

I traveled to the beautiful Smokey Mountains in Gatlinburg Tennessee during the Thanksgiving Holiday. The small town of Gatlinburg was a true "Tender Tennessee Christmas" experience. The charming city filled with chocolatiers, holiday decor and moonshiners was a fun taste of the mountains.

If you're heading to the city here's a few of my must do's:

The Bear Skin Lodge is the best of both worlds. The animal skins, natural wood and cozy fireplace makes for the perfect cabin setting, while your in walking distance of the local shops and eateries.

Ole Smoky Moonshine  is the ultimate mountain experience. Enjoy a free tasting of the best moonshine the Smoky's has to offer... all 12 flavors! The once taboo tradition is long gone and is now ready for you to enjoy. Drink up!

Loco Burro This Mexican restaurant is home to the best views in town. Sip on one of  their hand crafted margaritas while enjoying the beautiful city lights on the third floor in their roof top lounge.

Take a drive through the breathtaking Smoky Mountains and enjoy the 15 mile trip up the mountain. Before you begin the drive make sure to stop in at Old Dad's general store. Choose from their wide variety of sandwiches, soups and snacks for the perfect picnic along side the flowing river.

The Peddler Steakhouse is the highest quality dinning in the city. This quaint restaurant provides a romantic ambiance with 5 star service.

* My personal choice: Opt for the filet mignon.  While you chose your meat table-side,  it will be served butterflied and cooked to perfection.
