Décor & Couture

When my mother told me she was headed to Atlanta for some shopping, I eagerly jumped on board. Sick or not sick, a quick trip seemed appealing. Little did I know...the trip had been scheduled just for me? When we arrived in the city we began to pass our regular stomping grounds...I knew then, something was up. Finally, my family broke their silence as we pulled into Winnie Couture; my parents had scheduled a bridal consultation for my wedding gown. If you’ve read my earlier ATL post, the designer is my favorite and I was overwhelmed!
When we arrived, I met with my stylist and began to review gown options. One sample dress later and I had my gown! After reviewing fabrics, sequence and other gown options; my specifications were completed. BAM, wedding dress done; yes, it really was that easy-well I hope. The official gown is being constructed in Beverly Hills’ and should be in within a few months. Not to count my chickens before they hatch but, I think it’s going to be amazing ;D.
Before we made our way back to Tennessee, my family and I stopped at the St. Regis Hotel for lunch. If you’ve never stayed in the hotel, you must stop in for a quick lunch or dinner! The hotel is the "Plaza" of the South. The opulent décor and charming staff make the establishment a place I could call home.
I opted for the St. Regis English tea and honey.
Dessert: Chocolate caramel cake, with a raspberry ice.

After lunch we weren’t quite ready to leave. Thus, while my parents enjoyed their cup of coffee my sister and I enjoyed the sun deck. 70 degrees in November-I could get use to that...
OK, I know I'm not the only one who's ever booked a hotel based on online reviews and upon arrival, those reviews had fallen short. No matter how good an online review can be, I prefer an evaluation from someone I know. Therefore, for those of you considering a trip to Atlanta, here’s an inside look at the St. Regis corridors.
Also, with Christmas almost here you need to schedule your reservation for the St. Regis ice skating rink. Yes, ice skating in a hotel! For the holidays, the hotel transforms their pool (on the 6th floor) into their own personal ice rink and you don't have to stay in the hotel to skate! However, time on the ice requires a reservation-so call ahead.
