Home Design Time

Do you ever find a space that instantly inspires you? Whether the décor stems from classic or modern, I love getting my creative juices flowing and applying it to my own home.  Attempting to create a dream space takes time, really knowing yourself and what you like. My personal home style is ever evolving.  However, I think I’ve found my design styles and have mixed them well.

Being a serial decorator and reorganizer, I analyze a space and recreate it constantly. It sounds exhausting, I know but, if you have internet you can do or create anything- so use this to your decorating advantage! Find three designs that you like and try to re-create a mix of the spaces. However, be careful not to go "design crazy". A mix of too many styles can turn your home into hodgepodge. Not good. Just remember Coco Chanel’s method; “Before you leave, take something off”...or out in this case.

Below are a few of my décor inspirations, what are your favorite?

I'm loving the black lacquer walls. A chic staple to a simple room. Plus, you can never go wrong with black & white. What do you think?

Classic / masculine mix.

This NYC penthouse is something out of Sex & the City.

Adding a fresh orchid to a room is the perfect final touch!

Add table top books as a personal touch to shelving, coffee tables or night stands.

One of my design favorites: Author Moll Anderson published a fab book called "The Seductive Home". The book is filled with multiple design styles and party ideals. Also, the book makes for a great table top accessory. Add this to your Christmas must have list!

The St. Regis Hotel is the definition of opulence. I’m fascinated by the hotels décor and design concept. The pool… oh the pool…can’t you just see yourself sipping a mimosa on one of the plush lounge chairs? If only it was spring… ahhh.
