Motivation Monday

Contrary to most, I love Mondays- a fresh new week of a jam packed schedule and deadlines to meet…. oh yes, that excites me.  However, in the management field it’s easy to slip into work overload-like most careers. Thus, it's important to constantly be motivated. Whether reading motivational quotes or reviewing notes from mentors-giving it all you've got is a MUST.

For those looking to meet your personal goals-I’m sharing my TOP 10 success / motivation tips:
  1. START AT THE BOTTOM- To be the best, you must know the ends and outs of your field. Thus, starting at the bottom and working your way up ensure credibility.
  2. DO MORE THAN WHAT IS REQUIRED
  3. GET A SYSTEM- and be organized. Color coding & keeping a book of notes on clients and calls will not only ensure a mistake proof formula but, the next time your client comes in and you ask “how was your vacation”-you connect on a personal level. Thus, building client relations.
  4. GIVE MORE- Clock out at 5 and stay till 6.Work to better mind not your wallet.
  5. CHECK-CHECK-CHECK-Never let your mistakes out of the office. Create a buddy system with your co-workers or superior. Check outgoing emails, letters, etc.
  6. MOTIVATE- yourself. Find quotes, people or aspirations and keep a reminder in your desk.
  7. SURROUND YOURSELF WITH SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE-The old saying is true, “you are what you hang around”. Being around successful people will motivate you and open your mind to new ways of thinking.
  8.  IDENTIFY YOUR REQUIRED SKILLS- and learn everything you can… and then perfect the skill(s).
  9.  RECOGNIZE YOUR WEAKNESSES-no one is born perfect. Therefore, find your weak link and practice. Also, always have someone who can compliment your weakness and vice-versa.
  10. SOLVE PROBLEMS-think of your issues like a judge, the “he said”/ “she said” is irrelevant. Focus on the issue at hand and create a resolution.
