With February 1st being National Wear Red Day for the American Heart Association-this post comes at great timing. Many of you know, my father suffers from heart disease (as it runs in our family). On April 21,2011 my father was admitted to MTMC for a standard arteriorgram. During this procedure, the doctors at MTMC discovered 5 arteries, blocked 100%. Therefore, he was rushed to St. Thomas Hospital for open heart surgery. My family & I are extremely thankful for the doctors at MTMC and St. Thomas; as my dad would not be alive today, if not for their timely discovery and operations.

Thus, when I was invited to serve on the 2013 Common Wealth Society for Middle Tennessee Medical Center I was honored. I'm looking forward to learning more about the hospital and the healthcare industry.
